PROJECT BIKES - 1946, & 1947, 3 each total, INDIAN CHIEFS FOR SALE
I got these bikes mostly in the 1980's as I was planning on a restoration shop. I soon found out that parts manufacturing was my passion, 30+ years ago. I've been collecting and manufacturing additional parts for these machines ever since then. It finally came time to put the bikes together and here they are. The big majority of the sheetmetal is original Indian. All bikes have Linkert M344 carbs, rebuilt Autolite distributors, and complete Autolite generators. All bikes were properly assembled by me, so you can easily see what's there and that the parts fit. I've been doing this since I got my first bike, a 1953 Chief, in 1967.If it is important for you to modify the bikes on offer by adding or subtrating parts or to negotiate the prices, this website is not for you. Same for those that want me to assemble their dream Indian Chief project bike.

Recommendations:
The bike is “matching numbers” by AMCA standards, so it could be restored to a full fendered Chief. I recommend it being made into a Bobber. Easier to build, cheaper to pay for, and easier to work on. Leaving off all that weight will make it faster. make it a 12 volt system.Riders instruction book and repair manual are essential, buy from Greer. For a parts book, use Greer’s website. Exploded view drawings and individual parts details are great!
